About Transparent

Transparent Inc. is a leader in 3D cell culture plate design and applications supported by comprehensive patent portfolio in biomaterial sciences. The 3 dimensional cell culture system "Cell-able", based on photosensitive polymer technology and cell biological technology, creates in vivo environment on multi-well plates. The system is applied to patient derived tumor cells, iPS cells, hepatocytes and other cells, and provides advanced cell culture models to develop new drugs and/or therapeutics.

Leadership

Rocky H. Kato
President and CEO

Rocky Kato joined Transparent Inc. on November 2010 with a proven track record of success mainly in the area of information technology, internet services, and life sciences. Having over 20 years of senior management experience in strategic planning, business development, licensing, and investment, he brings significant management experience to Transparent.
Prior to join Transparent, his career includes a board member of Carna Biosciences Inc., a board member of Yukiguni Maitake Co., Ltd., and various management positions of Hitachi Limited.
As a race car driver, he competed many of formula car championships in Europe, USA, and Japan between 1982 and 1989.
Takeshi Ikeya, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer

Before joining Transparent Inc. on May 2008, Dr. Ikeya was senior manager at Toyo Gosei Co.,Ltd., where he was responsible for the research and development of chemical surface modifications using photosensitive materials.
He earned his Ph.D. in 1998 from Tokyo University of Science, Japan.
Koichi Yokota, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Yokota joined Transparent Inc. on May 2012 as the Chief Scientific Officer. He is a pharmacologist and Ph.D of Osaka University, Japan.
Before joining Transparent Inc., he was a management and Chief Scientific Officer at Carna Biosciences, Inc., who was responsible for drug discovery, R&D of products and contract service. And, he was a head of pharmacology research unit at Nippon Organon and Pharmaceutical division of Kanebo.
He was an adjunct professor of Osaka University (2009-2011).
